sideqwst is a public index of Australian university student events. By using the site you agree to the terms below. If you can't agree, please don't use the site.
Who this is for
sideqwst is for students, prospective students, and anyone with a general interest in Australian university student life. There's no minimum age enforced by the site, but Australian consumer protection rules apply if you're a minor.
What you can do
Browse events, clubs, and universities.
Save events to your Quest Log (across devices, once signed in).
Submit events for review. Submissions are moderated before they appear publicly.
What you can't do
Submit events from private or closed groups, leak personal data (attendee lists, phone numbers, private DMs), or paste someone else's writeup wholesale. Publicly-posted event details — titles, times, venues, descriptions — are fair game to submit.
Submit misleading, harassing, or unlawful content. This includes anything targeting a person, discriminatory content, or content promoting illegal activity.
Attempt to break the site's access controls or overwhelm it with automated traffic. Rate limits and abuse detection apply.
Use the site or your account for commercial promotion without our written permission.
Content you submit
You keep ownership of the text and images you submit, but you grant sideqwst a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display them on the site and share them with the club or university a submission concerns for moderation. If you delete your account, your submissions remain in our moderation history (anonymized) so approvals and rejections can be audited.
Events are informational, not endorsed
The site aggregates events from clubs and public sources. We do our best to keep event details accurate and to hide events that have ended, but we can't guarantee correctness — always check with the host before showing up. sideqwst isn't a party to any event and isn't responsible for what happens at one.
Suspension and account termination
We can suspend or delete an account that violates these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why unless doing so would compromise a safety investigation. You can appeal by emailing sideqwst001@gmail.com. You can also delete your own account any time at /me/settings.
No warranty; limited liability
sideqwst is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by Australian law, sideqwst isn't liable for indirect losses (like missed opportunities or reliance losses) arising from your use of the site. Nothing here excludes rights the Australian Consumer Law guarantees you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Victorian courts.
Changes
We'll bump the date below when this changes materially. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
